The attractions listed below all have some type of historical and/or educational character: 

Fair Grove & The Wommack Mill:   The Wommack Mill (click here for more photos) is an 1800s historic masterpiece, possibly only one of two steam powered stone burr gristmills in the world still working on an original site.  The Mill is located in Fair Grove, Missouri north of Springfield about 15 minutes just off Hwy. 65.  (417) 759-2807.

Ozark Greenways Rural Bike Tours:  Ozark Greenways offers a number of different bike trails throughout the county.  (417) 864-2014 or 2015.

Archery Quest

Cooper Tennis Complex:  This 127-acre sports complex has areas for lighted softball and baseball, indoor and outdoor soccer, tennis courts, physical fitness course, concession stands, lots of parking space, and public restrooms.  For more information call (417) 866-9207.

Petra Rock Climbing Gym:  Located on the north side of town at 916 North Cedarbrook, Petra is a great place for the kids to exude some energy.  This facility offers trained professionals to guide and supervise guests.  Classes are  available to become certified to belay without a staff member.  Prices and hours of operation vary.  For more information call (417) 866-3308.  Photos of some walls inside . . .
