options: Community Recreation; Health and Wellness
Promotion; Outdoor Recreation; Private/Commercial
Recreation; or Therapeutic Recreation.
OR
Non-Comprehensive Degree Option (6-12 hours)
Complete, with advisor approval, 6-12 hours from one of
the following degree options: Community Recreation
or
Private/Commercial Recreation. Must also complete a minor.
First Aid Proficiency:
Each
major must show proficiency in First Aid and Cardio
Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Students must provide
copies of their current First Aid and CPR
cards/certifications to the internship coordinator prior
to enrolling in REC 491 and maintain current
certifications throughout the internship.
Certifications can be completed by the following:
a. Complete PED 253 with a grade of “C” or better
(First Aid and CPR certification cards must be
obtained as part of
successful
completion of this course).
b. Complete the American Red Cross First Aid
course and CPR course and obtain certification. See

c. Complete the American Heart Association First Aid
course and CPR course and obtain certification. See
