What is Wellness?Wellness!

  o    The concept of practicing all the things which keep one well. It involves maintaining good nutrition, exercise, stress-control, and good personal and familial social relationships.  (Source)

   o   A type of preventive medicine associated with an individual's lifestyle which, through a combination of exercise and diet, can reduce health care utilization and costs.  (Source)

   o    A health care process that fosters awareness and attitudes toward health lifestyles so that individuals can make informed choices to achieve optimum physical and mental health.  (Source)

   o    A dynamic state of health in which an individual progresses toward a higher level of functioning, achieving an optimum balance between internal and external environments.  (Source)

 

The degree option in Wellness & Health Promotion will prepare you for management, marketing, fitness instructor positions in community-based, private, or corporate fitness, and health-related services promoting the concept of wellness.
